Red Arrows secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Kabwe Warriors to clinch the 2024 ABSA Cup in front of a near-capacity crowd at Heroes Stadium. Ricky Banda wasted no time, putting the Airmen ahead just 26 seconds into the game, setting a positive tone for Chisi Mbewe’s side.
Arrows asserted their dominance early on, with Alassane Diarra controlling the midfield. Diarra extended their lead with a well-placed finish just before halftime, giving the Airmen a comfortable advantage heading into the break.
In the second half, Kabwe Warriors returned with renewed determination. The resilient team managed to pull one back through Godfrey Binga seven minutes into the half, injecting new energy into the match.
Despite Kabwe Warriors’ efforts to equalize, the Arrows’ defense, led by Charles Kalumba, stood firm, denying their opponents any further goals. The Airmen ultimately held on to claim their second ABSA Cup title.
