Red Arrows aiming for league and ABSA Cup double

Red Arrows, on the brink of securing their third MTN Super League title, are now aiming for a league and cup double as they head into the 2024 ABSA Cup semifinals.

Having already secured their place in the quarter-finals, Red Arrows will be looking to continue their impressive form in the cup competition. Their journey so far has seen them defeat Green Eagles, setting up an exciting clash with Nchanga Rangers in the semifinals.

Red Arrows came close to achieving a double two years ago but fell short in the ABSA Cup final against NAPSA Stars. This year, under the guidance of Chisi Mbewe, they are determined to secure their second ABSA Cup triumph, with vice-captain Saddam Yussuf Phiri in fine form and expected to play a key role.

Nchanga Rangers, however, will provide stiff competition. The team has shown strong form in the FAZ National Division One and demonstrated their quality by eliminating ZESCO United in the quarter-finals.

The stakes are high, with the winner set to pocket K800,000 and the Absa Life Player of the Tournament, Top Scorer, and Golden Glove each receiving K25,000. The semifinals promise thrilling action, with Kabwe Warriors facing FC MUZA in the first match followed by Nchanga Rangers against Red Arrows, both games taking place at Arthur Davies Stadium on Saturday, May 4th.
