Patson Daka and Leicester City End 2023 on a High with 2-0 Win Over Cardiff City

Zambian striker Patson Daka and his Leicester City side celebrated the conclusion of 2023 on a positive note, securing a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City in the EFL Championship on Friday evening.

Daka, a key figure for Leicester, was actively involved for 83 minutes in his sixth consecutive league start this month.

While he didn’t add to his impressive tally of four goals and two assists, his teammates Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and full-back James Justin made significant contributions, finding the back of the net to secure all three points for the Foxes.

The triumph extends Leicester’s lead at the top of the EFL Championship table to a commanding eight points. Their next challenge is scheduled for Monday at home against Huddersfield.

Patson Daka will now shift his focus to national team duty, with the Zambian squad already in camp in Lusaka. The team is preparing for their upcoming trip to Saudi Arabia for final preparations ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations finals, scheduled to take place in January and February in Ivory Coast.

Daka is expected to join the national team during the coming week, along with four other foreign-based players who are yet to report for duty. Zambia will be aiming for a strong performance in the prestigious continental competition.
