Mercy Chipasula Takes Her Talent to Denmark With HB Køge Women

Zambia’s Copper Queens forward Mercy Chipasula has joined top Danish club HB Køge Women, marking another important step in the 18-year-old’s developing career.

Both Køge and Chipasula have confirmed the move, although the contract duration has not been disclosed.

Chipasula joins the Danish side from Zambian club Kamfinsa Blue Eagles Queens of Kitwe, having already gained international experience with Zambia’s Under-17 and Under-20 teams before making the step up to the senior national team.

The forward has represented the Copper Queens at the 2025 and 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and will now continue her development in Denmark.

Chipasula said moving to Køge will blossom her career.

“I chose to move to the club because I believe that it is the best place for me to develop. I am still young and know that I have a lot to learn, so I feel that HB Køge Women is the right place for me to take the next steps in my career,” she told the club media in Denmark.

“The club’s proud history was also an important reason why I chose to come here. I am really looking forward to getting started and starting a new chapter in my career. I promise to work hard and do everything I can to contribute to the club’s continued success,” said Chipasula.

Sporting Director Jonas Nielsen welcomed the arrival of the young Zambian, highlighting her one-on-one ability and qualities with the ball.

“We have been very much looking forward to the paperwork around Mercy’s work permit falling into place, so it is great that she is finally here. Mercy has something extra that we rarely find in young players in Denmark. She is strong one-on-one and can do some things with the ball that we have been missing in the squad,” Nielsen said.

“Therefore, we are also proud that we have managed to sign her in front of some of the biggest clubs in the world, and we are already feeling interest before she has played her first game for us. She has just turned 18, so we have to give her time and be patient. But I would like to promise our fans that we have brought in a player who will entertain,” Nielsen said.

Chipasula has been handed the number 10 shirt at HB Køge Women as she begins this new chapter of her career in Denmark.
