Margaret Tembo Qualifies for Paris 2024 Olympics
Zambian boxer Margaret Tembo has made history by becoming the first female boxer from the country to qualify for the Olympic Games. She will be competing alongside Patrick Chinyemba in the boxing category at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Tembo secured her spot through a universal place allocation by the Olympic Games Tripartite Commission and the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit. Her selection is a testament to her outstanding performance in various competitions, including the African Championships and Olympic qualifiers.
Competing in the women’s 50 kg category, Tembo has had a successful career. She won a bronze medal at the 2022 African Games and reached the quarterfinals of both the Continental Olympic Qualifications and the World Qualifications Tournament in Bangkok.
