Leicester City Cruises Past Southampton 5-0, Daka Makes Late Appearance

In a rescheduled week 38 fixture at King Power Stadium, Leicester City secured a resounding 5-0 victory over Southampton, inching closer to automatic qualification back into the English Premier League. Coach Enzo Maresca opted to start with Jamie Vardy as the leading striker, while Zambian international Patson Daka was named on the substitute bench.

However, it was Ghanaian international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku who stole the spotlight, netting a hat-trick to propel Leicester to a comfortable win. Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy also contributed to the scoresheet. Daka, who came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute, had a limited eight-minute cameo.

Despite the victory, Daka’s goal drought continued, marking his 10th appearance in the Championship for Leicester City without finding the back of the net. Nonetheless, the win sees the Foxes move four points clear of second-placed Leeds United in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League, with just two games remaining in the season.
