Lameck Banda Responds To Lecce Warning, Returns To Italy

Chipolopolo forward Lameck Banda has returned to Italy after Serie A side Lecce warned that he could face disciplinary action for failing to report for pre-season training on time.

According to ZNBC’s Katwishi Bwalya, Banda departed Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Wednesday afternoon aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight, accompanied by his newly-wedded wife.

The Zambian international declined to comment when approached by journalists before his departure.

Earlier, Lecce confirmed through its official channels that Banda had not reported for pre-season training despite being instructed to do so. The club warned that disciplinary measures could be taken if the matter was not resolved.

Banda’s return to Italy is expected to bring an end to the standoff as he rejoins his club ahead of the new Serie A season.
