CAF Confirms Final WAFCON 2026 Squads As 413 Players Prepare For Morocco
The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the final squads for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026, with the 16 participating nations registering a total of 413 players for Africa’s premier women’s football competition.
The confirmed squads reflect both the continued growth of women’s football across the continent and the emergence of a new generation of talented players ready to compete on Africa’s biggest stage.
The squad lists also highlight the remarkable diversity of experience across the tournament, with an age gap of 23 years separating the oldest and youngest players selected.
Mali midfielder Fatoumata Diarra is the oldest player at the tournament. Born on 15 April 1986 and currently playing for Tausi FC in Tanzania.
Cameroon forward Gabrielle Aboudi Onguéné is also set to make history by appearing at her eighth TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, becoming the player with the most tournament appearances in the competition’s history.
Elizabeth Ochaka of Kenya is the youngest player selected for Morocco 2026. The defender, born on 9 June 2009, represents Kenya Police Bullets FC and is among several exciting young talents included in this year’s tournament.
Other rising stars born in 2008 include Deborah Guira (Burkina Faso), N’Sira Safi Ouedraogo (Côte d’Ivoire) and Kadiatou Diarra (Mali), highlighting the bright future of African women’s football.
