Kundananji recently made a high-profile move to the United States, setting ambitious goals for herself. She was signed from Madrid CFF for a record-breaking fee of €735,000 ($788,000/£625,000), making her one of the highest-paid players in the league with a contract that extends through 2026.
The 23-year-old striker, who scored 25 goals in 29 appearances for Madrid CFF last season, aims to become the top goalscorer in the American league, building on her success in Spain. She expressed eagerness to learn from her new teammates and is particularly inspired by a desire to emulate the achievements of a seasoned player, citing her goal to break records and win prestigious awards.
Currently, Kundananji is in camp with the Copper Queens, preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics third-round qualifiers against Ghana. Despite expecting a tough match, she is confident in the team’s ability to secure a positive result in Accra, emphasizing the importance of fan support.
The first leg of the Ghana-Zambia match will be hosted at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, February 23rd, with the return leg scheduled for Wednesday, 28th February at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Zambia. The winner will advance to face either Tunisia or Morocco in the final round of qualification.
