Kings Kangwa’s Loan Spell in Belgium Falls Short of Starting Role Expectations

Kings Kangwa’s Loan Spell in Belgium Falls Short of Starting Role Expectations

Zambian midfielder Kings Kangwa’s quest for regular playing time has hit a roadblock once again, this time during his loan spell at KV Kortrijk in the Belgian Pro League.

After seeking an exit from Serbian powerhouse Red Star Belgrade in search of more minutes on the pitch, Kangwa joined KV Kortrijk in January. However, despite his aspirations, he has struggled to secure a starting role, making only two substitute appearances for the relegation-threatened Belgian side.

In their recent fixture against RWD Molenbeek, Kangwa remained an unused substitute as KV Kortrijk clinched a hard-fought 3-2 victory in round 28 of the league.

This situation mirrors Kangwa’s earlier struggles at Red Star Belgrade, where he lost his starting position at the beginning of the season. Despite his desire for a permanent move away, Kangwa opted for a loan to Belgium, hoping for more opportunities to showcase his talents. However, his efforts to establish himself as a regular starter have yet to materialize.

As Kangwa continues to navigate his career path, he faces the challenge of proving himself and earning significant playing time, whether at KV Kortrijk or potentially elsewhere in the future.
