Kamanga Explains Chipolopolo’s European Camp Strategy Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers
Andrew Kamanga, the President of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), has defended the decision to hold the Chipolopolo camp in Europe ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Kamanga explained that the choice was strategic, with the aim of providing optimal preparation for the team, especially considering the upcoming away match against Morocco.
Speaking in FAZ’s weekly segment, “The President’s Corner,” Kamanga emphasized the importance of selecting a camp location that closely resembles the conditions in Morocco. He highlighted the similarities in weather conditions between Europe and North Africa, which would benefit the team in adjusting to the environment before the crucial match.
Furthermore, Kamanga pointed out the convenience for European-based players to regroup in Europe, given the proximity to their bases. This factor would facilitate easier coordination and preparation for the team as they gear up for the back-to-back fixtures.
The Chipolopolo’s quest for qualification to the FIFA 2026 World Cup Tournament enters a critical phase with the upcoming matches. The camp in Europe reflects FAZ’s commitment to providing the team with the best possible preparation to secure positive results in the qualifiers.
