Hundreds Bid Farewell to Shonga; Body Airlifted to Chipata

The Lusaka-based football community came together to bid a heartfelt farewell to former Chipolopolo star Justin Shonga, who tragically passed away on Sunday following a brief illness.

Shonga’s untimely death has left a significant void in the hearts of many fans and fellow players.

Known for his exceptional talent on the field and his dedication to the sport, Shonga’s contributions to Zambian football will be remembered for years to come.

A solemn memorial service was conducted at the Arakan Barracks chapel, presided over by Zambia Police chaplains.

The chapel was filled with mourners, including family, friends, teammates, and football enthusiasts, all gathered to honor Shonga’s legacy.

Tributes were paid, and memories of Shonga’s remarkable career and personal life were shared, highlighting his impact both on and off the pitch.

Following the service, Shonga’s body was airlifted to Chipata for the final sendoff, where he will be laid to rest in his hometown, surrounded by loved ones and supporters.
