Green Buffaloes Volleyball Club Secures Gold at 2023 Confederation of African Volleyball Zone VI Championship

The Green Buffaloes Volleyball Club showcased their mastery and dominance by clinching the 2023 Confederation of African Volleyball Zone VI Senior Indoor Club Championship in Maseru, Lesotho. This victory marks their second consecutive title in the prestigious championship.

After defeating the UZ Wolves Volleyball Club of Zimbabwe 3-1 in the semifinals, the defending champions went on to face NABA of Zimbabwe in a thrilling finals showdown. Despite facing initial setbacks, the Green Buffaloes staged an impressive comeback, ultimately securing a 3-2 victory to defend their championship title.

The standout performances were recognized with individual honors. Charlie Akakandelwa was awarded the MVP title, Smart Mwale received the title of best Libero, and Muyunda Muyunda claimed the honor of best blocker.

In the girls’ category, UPM emerged as the victors, securing the title against Botswana’s Kutlwano VC in what was undoubtedly a remarkable display of volleyball prowess.
