Grant Vows To Do Everything Possible To Beat Morocco

Zambia’s Chipolopolo are gearing up for a high-stakes showdown against two-time CHAN champions Morocco, with head coach Avram Grant vowing his side will fight tooth and nail to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference in Nairobi, Grant acknowledged Morocco’s pedigree but insisted his team would focus on their own strengths rather than merely reacting to the opposition.

“We respect Morocco they’re a strong side but we’re not here to copy them. We’ll play our game, the way that suits us best,” Grant declared. “Football isn’t about perfection; it’s about seizing opportunities. We’ve created chances, and now we must convert them. Tomorrow, we leave everything on the pitch.”

After suffering back-to-back defeats, the Israeli tactician demanded a strong response from his players, emphasizing the importance of mentality and resilience.

“This is the moment to show character. CHAN is a golden opportunity for our local-based players to prove they belong at the highest level and even catch the eye of European clubs,” he added.

Despite Zambia’s rocky start, Grant remains optimistic, pointing to their improved performance against Angola as a sign of progress. “We’ve analyzed Morocco, and while they weren’t at their best against Congo, we know they’ll be tough. But we’re ready to raise our level even further.”

With Zambia rooted at the bottom of Group A and Morocco just three points ahead, Thursday’s clash at Nyayo Stadium is a must-win for the Chipolopolo. Only the top two teams will advance, meaning anything less than victory could spell an early exit.

Group A Standings:

Kenya – 7 pts (3 matches)

Angola – 4 pts (3 matches)

DR Congo – 3 pts (2 matches)

Morocco – 3 pts (2 matches)

Zambia – 0 pts (2 matches)

The stage is set for a thrilling encounter—will Zambia rise to the occasion, or will Morocco dash their quarterfinal dreams?
