Zambia’s National Team Coach, Avram Grant, Emphasizes Squad Fluidity: “No Place is Permanent”
Avram Grant, head coach of the Zambia national team, emphasized the fluidity of his squad during a press conference at Football House. Grant addressed the absence of several regular players from the upcoming four-team tournament, including Klings Kangwa, Fashion Sakala Jnr, and Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, stating that all players, regardless of their status, have the opportunity to return to the squad based on performance.
Grant highlighted the importance of exploring new talent and giving opportunities to players who are performing well. He emphasized that the national team is not a closed club and that players can come in and out of the squad based on his criteria for selection.
Regarding the upcoming tournament, Grant acknowledged that Morocco, one of Zambia’s opponents, is a strong team but stated that he is not afraid of them or any other team. He urged his players to be humble yet confident, emphasizing that they will be ready to compete against any opponent.
The tournament, which will also feature Kenya, Malawi, and Zimbabwe, is part of Zambia’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
