Former Black Aces Striker Lineker Mwiikisa on the Road to Recovery in South Africa

Bedfordview, South Africa – Lineker Mwiikisa, the former Black Aces striker and the 2015 Costa Do Sol Golden Boot winner, is making impressive strides in his recovery journey following ACL surgery. Currently receiving treatment at Linksfield Netcare Hospital in Bedfordview, South Africa, Mwiikisa is well on his way to rehabilitation.

During a recent physiotherapy session, Mwiikisa had the opportunity to meet with Banyana Banyana defender Bambanani Mbane. Mbane, too, is in the midst of her own recovery, overcoming an ankle injury sustained during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Mwiikisa’s commitment to rehabilitation and the progress he has made is a testament to his dedication to getting back on the pitch. Sharing this journey with Banyana Banyana’s Mbane, who has her own impressive track record, adds to the motivation and camaraderie in their shared pursuit of full recovery.

The South African medical facilities have provided both athletes with excellent care and support as they work towards regaining their fitness and form. This encounter serves as a reminder of the resilience of athletes and their unwavering determination to return to their respective sports at the highest level.

We wish Lineker Mwiikisa and Bambanani Mbane a speedy and successful recovery, and look forward to seeing them back in action in the near future.
