Forest Rangers Appoint Mwenya Chipepo as New Head Coach
In a press briefing held today at Dola Hill Stadium, Forest Rangers Football Club announced the appointment of Mwenya Chipepo as their new head coach. Chipepo, known for his successful stint with Power Dynamos, brings a wealth of experience to the position.
Chipepo’s coaching journey includes leading Power Dynamos to victory in the MTN Super League and guiding the team to qualification for the prestigious CAF Champions League. His expertise extends to working with various Super Division Teams, including Young Power Dynamos, Indeni, and Prison Leopards Football Clubs.
Assuming the role of head coach, Chipepo will be supported by Coach Manchi Janza, formerly associated with Lusaka Dynamos. The coaching duo has inked a 2-year, 6-month contract with Forest Rangers.
During the press briefing, Mr. Mwaba Mulawo, the club Chairman, expressed confidence in the coaching appointments, stating, “We firmly believe these appointments will not only instil hope among our stakeholders but also yield the desired results on the field.” He highlighted the exceptional quality of players at the club and emphasized the goal of qualifying for and defending the ABSA Cup.
Forest Rangers has set a challenge for Coach Chipepo to lead the team to qualification for the ABSA Cup in the remaining six games of the first half of the season. The club is optimistic about the potential success that Coach Chipepo and Coach Janza can bring to the team.
Simultaneously, Forest Rangers announced the mutual parting of ways with Assistant Coach Kennedy Kashobondo, who had been serving as interim head coach since Ian Bakala’s departure in September. The club expressed gratitude to Coach Kashobondo for his dedicated service during his tenure.
The management, executive, players, and fans collectively appreciate Coach Kennedy Kashobondo’s instrumental role, especially in securing the club’s first ABSA Cup title. The departure marks a new chapter for Forest Rangers under the leadership of Coach Mwenya Chipepo and Coach Manchi Janza.
