FAZ President Kamanga Pays Tribute to Sir Zoom Ahead of Charity Shield

On Friday afternoon, FAZ President Andrew Kamanga made a significant visit to Mufulira, where he laid wreaths at the gravesite of the legendary former coach Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu.

The visit, held at Chatulinga Cemetery, was a heartfelt gesture of respect and remembrance for one of Zambia’s most celebrated football icons.

Ndhlovu, affectionately known as ‘Sir Zoom,’ played a pivotal role in shaping Zambian football, both as a player and coach.

His contributions to the sport are still deeply felt today, making this visit by Kamanga a poignant moment for the entire football community.

Kamanga’s tribute to Sir Zoom was part of a series of activities leading up to the much-anticipated 2024/25 Carling Black Label Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield.

This annual event, named in honor of Ndhlovu, brings together top teams in Zambian football to compete in a match that celebrates his enduring legacy.

This year, the Charity Shield will see Red Arrows take on Kabwe Warriors at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday.

The match not only marks the beginning of the new football season but also serves as a platform to honor and remember the contributions of one of Zambia’s greatest football legends.
