FAZ Futsal Team Gears Up with Confidence for AFCON

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced significant strides in preparing the national futsal team for the upcoming AFCON, slated to begin next month.

According to FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga, the association has secured the services of a physical trainer to enhance the team’s fitness ahead of the tournament. Additionally, a goalkeeper coach has been enlisted to collaborate with the technical staff, recognizing the high level of experience among the qualifying teams.

Kamanga highlighted that winning the first two matches would be crucial for the team’s advancement to the semi-finals, particularly since their final group stage match is against host nation Morocco.

He further appealed to the corporate sector to provide support, emphasizing the team’s commitment to bringing honor to Zambia.

Notably, the top three finishers at the Futsal AFCON will earn berths at the World Cup, scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan.
