COSAFA: Copper Queens Placed in Group B

The Zambia Women’s National Football Team finds themselves placed in Group B for the COSAFA Women’s Championship, alongside Angola, who reached the finals in 2008. Joining them in this group are Comoros and Mozambique.

The current champions of this regional competition, the Copper Queens, are determined to defend their title, which they secured last year with a 1-0 victory against South Africa.

Over in Group A, the hosts and seven-time champions, South Africa, will face off against Madagascar, Malawi, and Eswatini.

Group C marks the return of Zimbabwe, who missed out on last year’s edition due to a FIFA ban.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from October 4th to 15th. Group winners will secure an automatic spot in the semi-finals, while the second-best team from all groups will also advance to the last four.
