Chisi Praises Zambia’s Performance Despite Loss: ‘We Played Well

Zambia coach Chisi Mbewe commended his team’s performance despite their 2-0 defeat to Kenya in the 2024 Cosafa Cup on Thursday.

Two first-half goals from the Harambee Stars secured the win for the East Africans.

“We played well. I would say we had a great game. It’s just unfortunate that we conceded goals early in the match. But overall, the team played well,” Mbewe said.

The defending champions will now shift their focus to Sunday’s highly anticipated clash against Zimbabwe in the latest edition of the ‘Battle of Zambezi.’

Zimbabwe triumphed over Comoros 1-0 in their opening fixture.

Both Kenya and Zimbabwe have three points, while Zambia currently sits at the bottom of the group.
