Chipolopolo Winger Banda Rescues Lecce with Equalizer Against AC Milan

Lameck Banda, the swift winger for Chipolopolo Boys, made a significant impact in the Italian league as he scored a crucial equalizer for his team, Lecce, in a remarkable 2-2 draw against AC Milan on Saturday.

Facing a formidable AC Milan side that dominated much of the first half, Lameck Banda showcased his attacking prowess with two or three attempts on goal, although initially unable to beat the Milan keeper. The scoring began with French striker Olivier Giroud finding the net in the 28th minute, followed by Tijjani Reijnders doubling the lead for Milan in the 35th minute, putting them comfortably ahead by halftime.

The second half saw a revitalized Lecce side, eager to bounce back from three consecutive defeats. Substitute Nicola Sansone made an immediate impact, scoring in the 66th minute and initiating a quick comeback. Lameck Banda, benefiting from a setup by Sansone just three minutes later, secured his first goal of the season, leveling the score.

Despite a late push by Lecce, including a stunning 35-yard goal by Roberto Piccoli that was, unfortunately, ruled out by VAR due to a foul in the build-up, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Banda’s impressive performance is a positive note as he prepares to join the national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium next Friday. His goal-scoring form adds to the anticipation of his contributions on the international stage.
