Chipolopolo Engage in Training Session at Heroes Stadium
The Zambia men’s national team conducted their second training session at the National Heroes Stadium on Thursday. Head coach Avram Grant and his technical staff led the Africa Cup of Nations-bound squad through a rigorous training regimen. Despite challenging weather conditions with initial heavy rains, the team persevered until the skies cleared later on.
In a small-sided game session, midfielder Klings Kangwa, based in Serbia, showcased remarkable agility with his characteristic silk turns and dribbling. Clatous Chota Chama, based in Tanzania, also impressed with his ball control and display of skill. Edward Chilufya and Albert ‘Deddo’ Kangwanda exhibited flair and determination during the session.
Looking ahead, the Chipolopolo Boys will relocate to Saudi Arabia next week. During their time in Saudi Arabia, the Copper Bullets are scheduled to engage in a friendly match against Cameroon on January 9.
This marks the 2012 AFCON winners’ return to the continental showpiece for the first time since 2013. Zambia is set to kick off its AFCON campaign on January 17 against Congo, followed by a match against Morocco four days later, and concluding the group stage with a fixture against Tanzania on January 24.
