Chikwanda Joins Prison Leopards’ Coaching Staff
Zambia Super League side, Prison Leopards, has named Elijah Chikwanda as its new Technical Director. Chikwanda, a seasoned coach with experience at clubs like Kabwe Warriors, Nkwazi, City of Lusaka, and Green Eagles in Zambia, as well as Nico United and Notwane FC in Botswana, will collaborate with head coach Lameck Banda, who retains his position. The club hopes Chikwanda’s expertise will bolster their fight against relegation.
In an effort to secure their place in the league, Prison Leopards have appointed Elijah Chikwanda as Technical Director until the end of the 2023/24 MTN Super Division season.
This decision comes as the team aims to improve its position in the league standings and avoid relegation. Lameck Banda will continue as Head Coach, supported by Bupe Chewe and Collins Mulenga in their roles as first and second assistant coaches respectively.
Chikwanda and Coach Banda have been entrusted with the task of ensuring that the team maintains its position in the MTN Super League by the end of the season.
Elijah Chikwanda’s extensive coaching experience, both locally and internationally, makes him a valuable addition to the team.
His previous coaching stints at clubs like Kabwe Warriors, Nkwazi, and Green Eagles in Zambia, as well as Nico United and Notwane FC in Botswana, have provided him with a wealth of knowledge that he can bring to Prison Leopards.
The club’s Vice Chairman Senior Superintendent Mutale, along with the Secretary General Assistant Superintendent Wisdom Chewe, expressed confidence in Chikwanda and Coach Banda’s ability to guide the team through these challenging times and maintain its position in the MTN Super Division.
