Chepeshi to Sit Out CECAFA Invitational Tournament
Red Arrows will be missing several key players for the 2024 CECAFA Invitational Tournament, including captain Benedict Chepeshi, who continues his recovery from injury, as stated in a club announcement.
Chepeshi, the right back for Chipolopolo, has attracted interest from multiple clubs and may be departing Nkoloma Stadium soon. Joining him on the sidelines due to injuries are strikers Chitiya Mususu and Twiza Chaibela. Defender Zephaniah Phiri, recently returned from a loan spell at Prison Leopards, also remains sidelined due to injury.
Meanwhile, Albert Kangwanda is set to represent Al-Hilal Omdurman FC of Sudan in the tournament, according to reports from the ZamFoot Crew.
Red Arrows will kick off their campaign against Kenyan champions Gor Mahia FC on Wednesday, 10th July, at 21:00 local time at the Azam Complex. They will face Sudanese giants Al Hilal FC on Saturday, 13th July, at 18:00 at the same venue, before concluding their group fixtures against Djibouti’s Telecom FC on Tuesday, 16th July, at 16:00 at the KMC Stadium.
