Chaiwa Joins Swiss Second-Tier Side Schaffhausen on Loan

Miguel Changa Chaiwa has embarked on a loan spell with Schaffhausen from BSC Young Boys, lasting until the end of the season. The 19-year-old made the move to FC Schaffhausen to secure more playing time, having only appeared three times for Young Boys this season.

Competing in the Challenge League, the Swiss second tier, Schaffhausen provides an opportunity for Chaiwa to develop his skills further.

Schaffhausen’s Sporting Director, Admir Mehmedi, spoke highly of Chaiwa’s abilities, describing him as an exceptional talent with incredible dynamics, traits he showcased both at Young Boys and the Zambia national team.

“We are proud to have persuaded such a young talent to join FC Schaffhausen,” Mehmedi added.

Chaiwa, who joined Young Boys in June 2022, notably represented Zambia at the CAF 2023 African Cup of Nations, where he impressed in both the holding midfield role and as a right full-back.
