Barbra Banda to Link Up with New Teammates Next Month

Zambia Women’s National Team captain, Barbra Banda, is set to join her new team next month after participating in the final round of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers.
Banda recently signed a four-year deal with the USA National Women’s Soccer League side, Orlando Pride, following her transfer from Shanghai Shengli for a reported fee of $740,000.
This makes her the second most expensive female football player in history, just behind her teammate Rachel Kundananji.

The signing of Banda is one of the largest investments in a player in National Women’s Soccer League history. However, Banda is currently awaiting the receipt of her P-1 Visa before she can travel to the United States.
She is currently in China and will participate in a farewell match on 23rd March to bid a proper goodbye to the fans.

After the match, Banda will travel to Ndola for the Copper Queens’ two-legged tie against Morocco. Zambia will host Morocco on 5th April at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium at 19:00, before facing the Atlas Lionesses away in Rabat on 9th April.
Banda is expected to be one of the highest-paid players in the National Women’s Soccer League, with her deal including a number of incentives and bonuses, making it one of the biggest investments in women’s football.
