Banda’s Brace and Assist in Shanghai Shengli Farewell

Barbra Banda, the captain of the Copper Queens, recently played her final match for Shanghai Shengli in the Chinese Women’s Super League. In this farewell game, she showcased her exceptional talent by scoring two goals and providing an assist, helping Shanghai Shengli secure a 4-2 victory over Shaanxi Changan. Banda’s outstanding performance earned her the player of the match award.

Following her successful stint in China, the Zambian international has signed a four-year contract with Orlando Pride in the USA National Women’s Soccer League. Her transfer fee of $740,000 makes her the second most expensive female footballer in history, after her teammate Rachel Kundananji.

Banda’s move to Orlando Pride represents one of the largest investments in a player in National Women’s Soccer League history. She will now focus on her national team duties and securing a P-1 Visa before joining her new club in the United States.

Zambia’s upcoming matches against Morocco on April 5th and the Atlas Lionesses in Rabat on April 9th will be crucial, and Banda is expected to play a key role. Her contract with Orlando Pride is set to make her one of the highest-paid players in the National Women’s Soccer League, with several incentives and bonuses included, highlighting the significant investment in women’s football.
