Avram Grant names 25-man provisional squad for FIFA window friendlies vs Sudan & Tunisia

Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant has unveiled a 25-man provisional squad for Zambia’s upcoming FIFA international friendly matches against Sudan and Tunisia in Morocco.

The team will face Sudan on June 6, followed by a clash with Tunisia four days later on June 10. These matches serve as crucial preparation for Zambia’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September, where they will host Morocco in Group E before taking on Tanzania and Niger in October.

Beyond the World Cup qualifiers, the technical bench is also focused on keeping the squad sharp ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to be held in Morocco this December. The Chipolopolo secured their AFCON spot after topping Group G with 13 points, finishing ahead of African champions Côte d’IvoireSierra Leone, and Chad. Their campaign included four wins, one draw, and a single loss, ensuring back-to-back AFCON qualification.

The provisional squad will undergo fitness assessments during preparations, with possible adjustments before departure. While the final roster will be trimmed ahead of the Morocco trip, the door remains open for additional inclusions before September’s qualifiers.
