Al Hilal Eliminated from Kagame Cup as APR Set to Face Arrows

Rwandese side APR has advanced to the 2024 Cecafa Cup final, where they will face Zambian champions Red Arrows.

APR triumphed over Sudanese giants Al Hilal, winning 5-4 in a penalty shootout.

Red Arrows secured their spot in the final by defeating another Sudanese team, Al Wadi, in the other semi-final.

Despite being the tournament favorites, Al Hilal was knocked out after previously defeating Red Arrows 5-0 in the group stage.

Red Arrows bounced back from that loss, overcoming Gor Mahia and Djibouti Telkom to reach the semi-finals.

Chisi Mbewe’s team will now compete for a chance to win $30,000 (approximately K765,000) if they beat APR on Sunday.

The runners-up will receive $20,000, while the team winning the third-place play-off will earn $10,000.

Red Arrows are also set to face Malawi’s Nyasa Bullets in the CAF Champions League. The winner of this match will advance to play TP Mazembe in the next round.
