AFCON: FAZ Sets Advancing from Group Stage as Primary Objective

The Chipolopolo Boys have outlined their initial objective for the upcoming AFCON tournament, aiming to progress from the group stage.
Scheduled to commence their AFCON campaign on January 17 against Congo, followed by a match against Morocco four days later, and concluding group fixtures against Tanzania on January 24, the team is focused on taking each step deliberately.

President of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), Andrew Kamanga, emphasized the importance of a gradual approach, with the primary goal being to secure qualification from the group stage.
Speaking at a media event in Lusaka, Kamanga stated, “We will take it one step at a time. The first thing is getting out of the group and then moving from there.”

The Chipolopolo Boys have regrouped in Lusaka for their local camp and are set to relocate to Saudi Arabia next week. During their stay in Saudi Arabia, they are scheduled to engage in a friendly match against Cameroon on January 9.

This AFCON marks the return of the 2012 champions to the continental stage for the first time since 2013, adding anticipation to their journey in the upcoming tournament.
