AC MILAN Confirmed The Signing of Chelsea Striker Olivier Giroud
AC MILAN has officially Confirmed the Signing of French striker Olivier Giroud from 2020/21 UEFA champions league winners Chelsea on a two-year deal on the 17th of July 2021.
The announcement was made on the clubs website and social media page. On signing the former Arsenal player the club
Chelsea also made a statement about the transfer on their website, praisng the contributions of the striker in the club’s recent history.
Chelsea wrote:
“Olivier Giroud has today completed a permanent transfer to AC Milan. The Frenchman’s move to Italy’s Serie A brings to an end his three-and-half-year stay at Stamford Bridge following a deadline day transfer from Arsenal in January 2018″.
“Olivier ends his time in London with 119 appearances, 59 as a sub, and 39 goals to his name, as well as those three trophies, wins. We thank him greatly for his service and wish him the very best in his future career”.
Giroud’s understood to be around €1m (£855,000), with an extra €1m (£855,000) in bonuses subject to a number of appearances and qualification for the Champions League.
On joining the Milan club, Giroud said:
“My ambition is to win some trophies. “That’s why I am playing football. I am a competitor and I want to win again and again.”
Giroud becomes the second Chelsea player joining AC Milan this summer as they have already secured the services of Fikayo Tomori, who spent the last 6 months with them on loan, permanently. The Italians also have interest in The Blues out of favor duo Tiemoue Bakayoko and Hakim Ziyech so we might see some more movement from london to milan
