CAF Inspectors Conclude 3-Day Visit to Zambia for 2025 AFCON Bid Evaluation
The team of inspectors dispatched by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to Zambia have successfully completed their three-day assignment of inspecting sites in connection with the country’s bid for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The four-member team, accompanied by government and Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) officials, evaluated stadia in Lusaka and the Copperbelt, while also monitoring other essential infrastructure such as hospitals, transportation, accommodation, and communication.
It was part of their work plan to inspect only selected venues, and not every facility listed in the bid book.
Zambia is among the four countries bidding for the 2025 AFCON, which was originally slated to be hosted by Guinea. The other bidders include Algeria, Morocco, and a joint bid from Nigeria and Benin.
