Power Dynamos Crowned MTN Super League Champions After Dramatic Final Day

Power Dynamos clinched the 2024/2025 MTN Super League title in dramatic fashion, securing the trophy with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Nchanga Rangers at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola.
The Kitwe-based giants finished the season in style, ending their campaign with 20 wins, eight draws, and just six losses, accumulating 68 points—five clear of second-placed ZESCO United.
The title-deciding match saw Nchanga Rangers take an early lead through Lukeza Ange Sama in the 10th minute, but Power Dynamos responded swiftly, with Titus Chansa nodding in a brilliant Sekanji Siame cross just seven minutes later to level the score.
Relegation Drama as Atletico Lusaka Go Down
Elsewhere, the battle to avoid relegation reached a thrilling climax as Atletico Lusaka suffered heartbreak despite a valiant effort against Prison Leopards.
Atletico had taken a shock lead just two minutes into the game at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, but Alex Ng’onga’s spectacular bicycle kick brought Prison Leopards level nine minutes later. Julius Kumwenda restored Atletico’s lead before halftime, but their survival hopes were dashed in the second half.
Angel Lubamba put Prison Leopards ahead early in the second half, and though Ng’onga converted a 73rd-minute penalty to make it 3-3, George Ngoma’s late strike sealed a 4-3 victory for the home side—condemning Atletico to National Division One football next season.
ZANACO, despite losing 1-0 to Red Arrows, survived relegation by the slimmest of margins, staying up on goal difference at Atletico’s expense.
