At Heroes Acre, Kamanga Leads 32nd Anniversary Tribute To Gabon Heroes

FAZ President Andrew Kamanga once again honored Zambia’s fallen heroes of the 1993 Gabon Air Disaster, continuing his heartfelt tradition as the nation marked 32 years since the tragic event.

The disaster claimed the lives of 30 football players and officials, a devastating loss that still resonates deeply within Zambian football.

Accompanied by FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga and Chipolopolo assistant coach Moses Sichone, Kamanga joined grieving family members and devoted fans at Heroes Acre in Lusaka.

Together, they laid wreaths and paid solemn tribute to the legacy of the fallen heroes, who tragically perished while en route to a World Cup qualifier, leaving an indelible mark on the nation’s sporting history.
