Klings Kangwa Makes His Debut for Hapoel Be’er Sheva
Chipolopolo midfielder Klings Kangwa made his debut for his new club, Hapoel Be’er Sheva, on Thursday evening in a match against Czech side Mladá Boleslav.
Kangwa entered the game as a substitute, replacing Shay Elias in the 64th minute, and delivered a solid performance, earning a 6.7 rating from Flashscore.
Be’er Sheva came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Boleslav in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League third qualifying round.
Kangwa is no stranger to European competitions, having previously played in both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
He recently signed a four-year contract with Be’er Sheva, joining from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade. This marks his second stint with the Israeli club, as he spent the 2017/18 season with their youth team, where he scored 9 goals.
Tomer Yosefi equalized for Be’er Sheva in the 50th minute after Patrik Vydra had given the hosts the lead from the penalty spot in the 39th minute.
Former Power Dynamos captain Benson Sakala also featured in the match, coming on as a second-half substitute for Boleslav.
The two teams will meet again next Thursday for the second leg at the 8,100-capacity Gradski Stadion Lovench.
The winner of this tie will advance to the play-off round, where they will face the winner between Paksi FC of Hungary and FK Mornar of Montenegro.
