Red Arrows Assistant Coach Kilililo Kakonje to Pursue CAF A Coaching License in Tanzania
Following Red Arrows’ triumphant treble win, including the 2024 ABSA Cup, MTN Super League, and CECAFA Interclub Dar Port Kagame Cup, first assistant coach Kilililo Kakonje will remain in Tanzania to embark on a journey to attain a CAF A coaching license.
Kakonje, who currently holds a CAF B coaching license, will join a group of regional coaches seeking to enhance their coaching expertise with CAF A certification. The programme, arranged by the Football Association of Zambia and facilitated by the Tanzanian Football Federation, began on July 22, 2024, in Tanga, with the first module ending on August 3.
Red Arrows FC CEO, Lieutenant Colonel Kambani Ronald Lungu, stated that this move aims to enhance coaching expertise and contribute to the club’s growth by building capacity on the technical bench. The CAF A Coaching License Programme covers various coaching aspects, including modern tactics and player development methodologies, to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to elevate football coaching standards.
Although Kakonje will not be part of the team’s return to Lusaka with the CECAFA Cup, his pursuit of higher coaching certification is expected to benefit the Red Arrows in the long run.
