Zambia U17 Women’s Team Begins 2024 World Cup Preparations with 36-Player Camp
Zambia U17 Women’s National Team coach Carol Kanyemba has called up 36 players for a one-week camp to kickstart preparations for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in the Dominican Republic. This camp is a critical first step in ensuring that the team is well-prepared to compete on the world stage.
The selection includes a mix of experienced players and new talent, giving the coaching staff a comprehensive look at their options as they refine their strategies and formations.
Coach Kanyemba has retained most of the core players who were pivotal in the team’s successful qualification campaign.
Among them are captain Blessing Zangose Zulu, whose leadership and defensive skills have been a cornerstone of the team’s success, and forward Namute Chileshe, known for her scoring prowess and offensive contributions. These players, along with their teammates, will continue to work on building chemistry and honing their skills during the camp.
The retention of these key players ensures continuity and stability within the squad, which is crucial as they aim to make a strong showing at the eighth edition of the World Cup.
