FIFA President Declares: ‘I Am Zambian
On a lighter note, FIFA president Gianni Infantino declared this afternoon at the Toyota Arena in Lusaka that he is a “Zambian,” expressing his pride in how football is administered in the country.
Infantino made this statement after watching exhibition matches and participating in a friendly match, where he scored the winning goal for the FIFA team in a 2-1 victory over the Zambian legends.
The FIFA president praised the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for the growth of the women’s game and the successes of the Copper Queens in qualifying for the Olympics twice and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Later this evening, before his departure, Infantino was seen wearing a white Kopa jumper with “Zambia” emblazoned on the back.
Indeed, the FIFA president is a “Zambian.”
