Fashion Sakala Praised by FAZ Eastern Province Permanent Secretary for His Community-Serving Efforts

Fashion Sakala Jr., a well-known Zambian footballer, recently met with Paul Thole, the Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, to discuss his ongoing community service initiatives. Thole praised Sakala for his patriotic efforts and commitment to giving back to his community.

Sakala has announced a significant initiative to distribute 200 wheelchairs to underprivileged and disabled families in the Eastern Province. “I wanted to empower people in the Eastern Province, and the first thing that sprang to mind was to establish a school in Mbenjere Chief Chikube. After observing the progress, I decided to support sports to help children,” Sakala explained.

In addition to his educational and sports initiatives, Sakala has organized the K700,000 Fashion Sakala Jr. Cup, the largest tournament in the region, which will conclude on Saturday. He plans to distribute the wheelchairs in Kawele Village, Chief Nzamane’s territory, and has organized consultation meetings with residents about a new health center.

Thole expressed his gratitude and admiration for Sakala’s generosity and dedication to his home province. “We’re grateful that you’ve returned home to give what you’ve earned. It takes a heart for somebody to remember where he or she comes from, and you’ve set a fine example of what it means to be a patriotic Zambian,” Thole said.

Thole highlighted Sakala’s contributions, including building school buildings, health centers, recreation centers, and sponsoring a provincial cup to find talent. “Your efforts serve as an example for others to follow, and we dedicate you to God’s blessings, expecting more as he does,” Thole added.

The Permanent Secretary confirmed his attendance at the Fashion Sakala Cup final on Saturday, marking the culmination of Sakala’s significant contributions to the Eastern Province community.
