The initiative, sponsored by the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and Olympic Solidarity, aims to enhance volleyball coaching standards in the region. In a statement delivered on behalf of NOCZ President Alfred Foloko, Secretary General Boniface Kambikambi emphasized the importance of the course and challenged all participants to excel in both theoretical and practical aspects of the training.

Foloko expressed his delight at Zambia being chosen to host two FIVB courses, highlighting the significance of such training for coaches aspiring to sit on the technical bench. Nakaonga Kakoma, President of the Zambia Volleyball Association, emphasized the value of the training, stating that participants would gain crucial knowledge beneficial to their respective nations.

FIVB Instructor Joel Mathews stressed the importance of educating coaches to further develop the sport in their countries. He outlined the rigorous requirements for obtaining the FIVB Level One Coaching Course Certificate, including passing exams and attending all course sessions. With over 20 coaches in attendance, the course aims to equip them with the necessary skills and expertise to advance volleyball coaching standards in their respective nations.
