Chipolopolo Bolster Squad with Foreign-Based Players Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers
The Zambia National Men’s Team, fondly known as Chipolopolo, has reinforced its squad with the arrival of several foreign-based players as they ramp up preparations for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Under the guidance of Coach Avram Grant and his technical staff, the team welcomed notable additions, including Obino Chisala, Gift Mphande, Emmanuel Banda, Evans Kangwa, Lubambo Musonda, Miguel Chaiwa, Patson Daka, Kings Kangwa, and Frankie Musonda.
With their sights set on crucial matches against Morocco and Tanzania, Chipolopolo recently conducted their second training session at the National Heroes Stadium. The team is gearing up for their FIFA World Cup qualifier clash against Morocco on June 7 in Agadir.
Following their encounter with Morocco, Chipolopolo will return home for a match against Tanzania on June 11 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. The team is bracing for a challenging campaign as they aim to secure vital points in their quest for World Cup qualification.
Coach Grant is expected to finalize his squad by trimming the current 27-member roster to 23 before the team’s departure for Agadir, ensuring the best possible lineup for the upcoming fixtures.
