Maylan Mulenga’s remarkable five-goal performance propelled Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club to a resounding 6-0 victory over Kabwe’s Queens Academy.
Maweta Chilenga contributed the other goal, solidifying Buffaloes’ dominance in the match. The win drew Buffaloes level on 84 points with ZESCO Ndola Girls, who narrowly defeated Elite Ladies 1-0 earlier in the day courtesy of a Charity Mubanga penalty.
Despite their equal points, Buffaloes remain atop the standings on goal difference but have a game in hand against Kamfisa Police Blue Eagles scheduled for Wednesday.
With her outstanding display, Maylan Mulenga now leads the top goalscorers chart with 25 goals, closing in on her first golden boot. Charity Mubanga and Rachel Moono are closely behind with 24 goals each, followed by Lungowe Namasiku with 23.
