ABSA Cup 2024: Numba Anticipates Challenging Matchup Against MUZA
Numba Mukamba, head coach of Kabwe Warriors, anticipates a challenging match this afternoon against Mazabuka-based side FC MUZA. In his pre-match conference, Numba commended MUZA, referring to them as the Elegant Dynamites, highlighting their exciting style of play.
“We have been preparing our team since our last league game, which we lost against Zanaco. Our team has shown good progress in our preparations, addressing our weaknesses, particularly in scoring,” Numba stated. “MUZA is a very dynamic team, consistently performing well since joining the Premier Division. We expect a tough match against them but we are ready and looking forward to an exciting game tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, Kabwe Warriors’ captain, Clement Mundia, expressed the team’s determination to secure a victory. “Congratulations to FC MUZA for their achievements thus far in the competition. They were finalists last season and are now in the semifinals,” he acknowledged. “We are fully prepared for MUZA and intend to give them a competitive match. Our aim is to win and qualify for the final to bring the cup back to Kabwe.”
Kabwe Warriors are aiming to reach their first ABSA Cup final, while FC MUZA is seeking to return to the final for the second consecutive year. Tickets for the match are already on sale at ShopRite stores nationwide via CompuTicketing, starting from as low as K30.
The winner of this year’s ABSA Cup will receive K800,000, with K350,000 reserved for the runner-up. Additionally, the ABSA Life Player of the Tournament, Top Scorer, and Golden Glove winners will each receive K25,000.
The 2024 ABSA Cup semifinals will take place on Saturday, 4th May, with Kabwe Warriors facing FC MUZA at 12:30, followed by Nchanga Rangers versus Red Arrows at 14:30, both matches at Arthur Davies Stadium.
