Fashion Sakala, the esteemed footballer, has unveiled the Mbenjere Fashion Sakala Football League, an innovative initiative aimed at nurturing football talents in disadvantaged communities across Zambia. Endowed with a substantial budget of K200,000, Sakala’s objective is to pave the way for aspiring footballers in his native villages to pursue their dreams of becoming professional athletes.
The league will feature 24 teams hailing from Mbenjere and neighboring villages, with each team receiving crucial equipment such as football jerseys and match balls to facilitate their participation. Weekly fixtures and results of the competition will be broadcasted on radio stations covering the entire Eastern province, ensuring extensive coverage and community engagement.
Beyond fostering talent development, the Mbenjere Fashion Sakala Football League will also commend exceptional individuals through various awards, including Best Player, Top Goal Scorer, Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper, Best Young Player, Best Coach, and Best Referee. These accolades seek to honor excellence and commitment within the league.
