Four talented judokas from Ippon Judo Club, under the guidance of OYDC Zambia, are gearing up for an exciting competition at the Musa Biscuits National Judo tournament in Kitwe. Miriam Seulu, Barbara Seulu, Obison Banda, Joshua Mwanza, and Arron Banda are among the athletes representing their club in this prestigious event organized by the Zambia Judo Association (JAZ).
Taking place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Kamfisa Police Training School, the tournament promises intense battles as judokas from clubs across the nation come together to demonstrate their skills on the mat.
Likemore Mahunje, programmes officer at OYDC Zambia, expressed confidence in the team’s abilities and extended his best wishes to the judokas. He highlighted the importance of such competitions in honing their athletic skills and encouraged them to strive for success.
“We are expecting some good news from these boys and girls as they face opponents. We want to see them win, motivating others to excel in future tournaments,” Mahunje stated, emphasizing the positive impact of participation in competitive events.
Mahunje also expressed gratitude to JAZ for the opportunity provided to the club managed by OYDC Zambia, highlighting the collaborative efforts within the judo community.
In Lusaka, these young judokas actively engage in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge, a dynamic league supported by Coen Teulings, Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium, since its establishment in 2011.
