Hauptle acknowledged the strength of the Copper Queens of Zambia, noting their World Cup experience and impressive track record. However, she emphasized that the Black Queens have prepared rigorously and are determined to win.
“Zambia is a formidable opponent. They have a strong history, having participated in the World Cup and played 21 games last year. They boast talented individual players, so we view this match as a must-win, and we are fully focused on achieving victory,” Hauptle stated.
Despite the Black Queens’ impressive record, having won 10 out of their last 11 games, Hauptle stressed the importance of staying grounded and concentrating on the upcoming match. She highlighted the team’s dedication and focus during their preparation for the game.
“We have had a productive week of training, and our focus has been on our own performance. While we take pride in our past victories, in football, the next game is all that matters. We are determined to advance past this qualifying round,” Hauptle added.
The clash between the women’s national teams of Ghana and Zambia is set to take place on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 19:00 CAT.
