UBA Donate To The Copper Queens Ahead 2020 Tokyo Olympics
The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has become the latest institution to place donations to the Copper Queens Olympic journey a boost with a donation of K112,000 towards preparations for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The local fundraising committee set a target of $2 million and has already received donations from Zanaco Bank, MultiChoice, and pledges from Access Bank ($10,000), Bank of Zambia, (K100,000), staff from the Vice President’s office, NATSAVE, selected permanent secretaries, Zambia National Building Society and City of Lusaka players.
The delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be held from July 23-August 8, 2021 in Japan. The Queens are in Group F alongside China, Brazil, and the Netherlands at the Tokyo Olympics.
Coach Bruce Mwape tutored side will start their journey at the Olympics with a stern test against the Netherlands on 21st July 2021 before taking on China PR 3 days later with both matches slated for Miyagi Stadium in Miyagi.
The Copper Queens will then wrap up their group match against the much-fancied Brazil on 27th July 2021 at Saitama Stadium in Saitama.
