Patson Daka vying for a spot in the Foxes lineup against Swansea.

Striker Patson Daka has rejoined Leicester City’s training sessions following the early exit of the Chipolopolo Boys from the Africa Cup of Nations. The Zambian international participated in training in Leicestershire on Monday and is anticipated to be included in the Foxes’ squad for today’s match.

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca, for the first time in nearly a month, now has three strikers at his disposal for the match against Swansea City. Earlier this month, Maresca faced a shortage of attacking options, with only Tom Cannon available, as Jamie Vardy was sidelined due to injury, and Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho were participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.

With Vardy’s recovery and Daka’s return to training after Zambia’s early elimination from AFCON, Maresca now has a trio of forwards to choose from. Before heading to AFCON, Daka had an impressive record of four goals and two assists in six starts for City.

Discussing Daka’s performances at AFCON, Maresca commented last Friday, “He did very well. I watched some moments of the game. He continued in the way he was doing here. I’m very sorry for him and his international team, but I’m very happy for us because he can be back very soon. He has done very well there, and hopefully, he can continue with us. For Tuesday, hopefully yes (he will be involved).”

The Foxes and Swansea are set to clash in the Sky Bet Championship this evening, with kickoff scheduled for 21:45 pm.
