FC Muza Striker Andrew Phiri Open to January Transfer Move
Mazabuka-based striker Andrew Phiri, who is currently the leading scorer for FC Muza, has indicated his willingness to consider transfer opportunities during the January window.
Despite attracting interest from Zesco United in the previous August window, Phiri stayed with FC Muza and has continued to impress, currently ranking as the second top scorer in the Zambian Super League with nine goals and scoring a total of 11 goals in all competitions this season.
In an exclusive interview with Zambinsport, Phiri expressed his openness to a potential move, stating, “I am always open for a move; it all depends on the club’s conditions and ambition.” However, any move would need to align with his current club’s expectations.
Phiri remains available for a transfer if the conditions are right, and with a few days left until the close of the transfer window, the situation is fluid. “The transfer window is still open; anything can happen,” he commented.
Reflecting on the first half of the season, Phiri acknowledged the challenges he faced with tight marking from opposition defenders. He also expressed disappointment in FC Muza’s first-round performance as a team, stating, “It has been tough because I am mostly the target and haven’t had an easy game. As a team, we are disappointed to finish the first round in that position because our target is to win the league.”
